Groups

You must be a member of Salisbury & District u3a, either Full or Other u3a (ie Associate), to participate in our groups and activities; this is for reasons of fairness and insurance. If you are not already a member, click here to join Salisbury & District u3a.

Individual Group Leaders manage their own groups and decide on their timetable and frequency of meetings. The Leaders are responsible for specifying the size of the group, communicating with the group and monitoring any waiting list to see if there is an opportunity to create a second group. The Leaders will specify costs of running the group, such as venue hire, or the cost of purchasing books or materials, for example. Where group leaders hold meetings in their homes there may be a nominal charge per meeting to cover the cost of refreshments.

Once enrolled in a Group, you will remain in the group indefinitely, unless you resign or are removed from the group by the Group Leader for reasons such as, for example, non-attendance. If you no longer wish to participate in a group, please resign and/or inform the Group Leader, so that space is made for others.

Important Information

Our U3A is run for you by you! There are no paid officers and we rely on our members to help keep our U3A going. If you have an idea for a new group, don't hesitate to contact the Group Co-ordinator, or any one of the committee, for help in starting it up. There is lots of support available and new groups, or even duplicates of existing groups that are over-subscribed, are always welcome.
