John Inman is a retired army officer who lives in Salisbury.  He includes amongst his hobbies a keen interest in military history and telling a good story.   These happily come together in his talks of battles fought by the British Army in Africa and Europe, from the Peninsular War to the first and second World Wars.  His aim is to bring the battles to life for everyone, following the stories of those who took part and viewing events through their eyes.  Each talk is created from meticulous research, including visits to the battlefields to walk the ground, and is illustrated with photographs and maps.
